Description
About DB37 Male Welded Connector – 37 Pin
- DB37 Male Welded Connector is the most common type of electrical connector.
- DB 37 connector is part of the D-sub miniature (D-sub) connector plug and socket family for computer and communication devices. DB-37 pins are arranged in rows of two, as one nineteen-pin row above an eighteen-pin row.
- DB37 connectors are designed to work with the EIA/TIA 232 serial interface standard, which determined the function of all nine pins as a standard so that multiple companies could design them into their products.
- DB37 connectors were commonly used for serial peripheral devices like keyboards, mice, joysticks, etc. Also, they are used on DB37 cable assemblies for data connectivity.
- Today, the DB37 has mostly been replaced by more modern interfaces such as USB, PS/2, Firewire, and others.
- However, there are still many legacy devices that use the DB37 interface for serial communication.
